By checking for spark this means you removed the spark plug and put it back in the wire. Then did a spark check. This eliminated the possibility that the plug was bad. If this is not so then do that first. I have had many times where the plug was the bad part.
This being done you can reinsert the plug and start the motor. With a long metal rod of some sort. do a hearing test of the injectors. They make a tester that looks like a doctors stethoscope, that can be bought at the local parts house. But I find the screw in antenna also serves as a good alternative or a long screw driver. Carefully place one end on a good injector and the other end just in front of your ear. ( NOT IN IT)!
You will be able to hear the clicking sound coming from the injector. Now check the one on the bad cylinder. If its clicking then the injector is at least firing. If not then I would check the wires and connector for this injector and possibly get the injector removed and serviced.
If the clicking is there I would perform a pressure check on the engine and make sure the cylinder is getting the same pressures as the others. If not then possibly a valve is bad or the rings are shot.
Find out why it is only running on 2 cylinders. Can be bad spark plugs, defective coils, bad fuel injectors, defective spark plug wires, etc.
Removing the oil cap with the engine running causes a vacuum leak in the positive crankcase ventilation. This causes too much air to enter the cylinders at once, which results in a stalling engine.
I never heard of any fuel injectors getting damaged from running out of gas.
This engine will have seven injectors. 6 are the running injectors and there is a "Cold Start" injector.
Buy a new car.
Because it is burning fuel in its cylinders.
Clean fuel injectors are important in keeping an engine running smoothly. To clean the fuel injectors a person can take them out, clean them off, and by adding a cleaning agent to the gas tank to clean them from the inside out.
It has a 6 cylinder motor also known as a V6 I do not think it can run only on 3 cylinders.
41 to 47 psi with pump running, engine off. The injectors are operated electrically.
Your injectors are leaking, or your O2 sensor is dead, or misreading.
Bad spark plug or plug wires. Can also be a burnt valve on those cylinders.
I have already checked and it is not the distributor cap, spark plugs or wires. The car was running fine last night and was on 3 cylinders this morning. Any information would help. Thanks!
