ok i have a 1986 jeep cherokee it wont start from the key in side it turns over but dosent fire up an its got (gas an fire) it will start if you pull start it an it has a carb

2 places to check. Follow the fuel line off the carb. Possibly mounted on the back side of the engine. Or follow the lines from the gas tank and locate it along the inner side of the frame rails. look near back left tire

How does it run? If it is running rich or lean then the carburetor could be the culprit. If it is original from 1986 I would bet it needs a rebuild.
I think you will find that this truck is fuel injected and has no carburetor. If I am wrong and it has a carburetor it is mounted on top of the engine dead center on the intake manifold.
