Rapid pump failure of a new replacement can be an electrical system problem or a faulty new unit. Aftermarket fuel pumps, even those branded as original equipment replacement often have serious quality and reliability issues in comparison to factory units. It is recommended that you check and or replace the fuel pump relay, pump voltages, to further isolate the causes.

You will need some sort of pan and some rags for this. The filter is held in place on the passenger side of the firewall with a couple of clips and is a rectangular shaped sheet metal "box". Put the pan under the filter, flip the clips and pull the old filter straight off the firewall. Then place it in the pan. There will be some fuel spillage/leakage - that's what the rags are for. When you have a new filter on, the first time you start up the engine it may take a while to get it filled back up with fuel.
