On mine there was a bad sensor. Fixed it fora few dollars at O'reilly's. Take it to a Jiffy Lube or something, MB deal will rip you off.
The low water level sensor is in your radiator overflow resivoir. The reservoir is supposed to have a certain amount of coolant in it but if it's low, the light comes on. This has nothing to do with the radiator being empty. True, if the reservoir is left unchecked the radiator may eventually become low and then you will overheat but until then, it's just telling you the reservoir is low.
The 'horseshoe' is a depiction of a reservoir, probably your wiper reservoir, but possibly your radiator reservoir, which should be about half-full when cold.
Probably low on coolant, check the reservoir.
"the horseshoe" sounds like a reservoir icon; check your fluid levels. Suspect wiper reservoir empty.
When the engine is cold, check the level of the coolant in the reservoir. Make sure it's up to the mark on the side. Make sure you get the reservoir cap on tight.
LOL, what that light is telling you is that the overflow reservoir is low on antifreeze, if it is full when you look at it and the light is still on, the sensor may be bad.
I have encountered this problem on an old Hiace. It required the reservoir bottle to be fulled.
Check the bottom of the radiator for damage. The coolant light will go on when the fluid level drops too low. Check the reservoir and add as necessary.
turn the car off. let it cool. check the radiator cap and make sure the radiator is full with coolant. also add some to reservoir
Means your radiator (coolant) level is low (below the sensor in the tank--you can see it). Just keep the coolant above that and you'll be good.
Don't know for sure but check in the radiator overflow. Tip: The radiator can be full but if the overflow is low or empty it will trigger the light.
Check that the coolant level is OK in the radiator itself, not just the reservoir. Sometimes the overflow system can become vapor locked and the system will not draw from the reservoir if it needs it. Do check: * Make sure the motor is cool! Don't do this at a gas station, do it at home after the car has been sitting for a few hours. If you don't heed this warning you will scald yourself. * Open the radiator cap. * If the radiator is not full of coolant, top it off. If it is empty you may want to do this check a few times, as there may be air in the system. Filling it up directly should remove the vapor lock and it should draw whatever else it needs from the reservoir.
