Weak battery? doesn't hold charge? A fully charged good battery is designed to support parasytic load for 21 days Excessive parasytic load? Hidden accessory left on? (i.e. glove box light trunk light etc.) Faulty voltage regulator (not opening circuit on engine shutdown?)

If you have an automatic transmission your torque converter clutch could be locking up. I am not sure if your truck will turn over or not but the bucking and jumping at 60 mph makes me think that you may have a problem with your torque converter.

You might check the primary coil inside the distributor. There are actually two coils inside. the secondary is below the distributor plate. It's best to replace both, as if you replace only the primary, and the secondary is also dead, it's much easier to do it once. The parts do not cost much. I made the mistake of replacing just the primary, only to find after re-istalling the distributor that the secondary was also out. Good luck Joe if your getting spark it may be your fuel pump relay switch i had the same problem check the wires going to it if there old they may be frayed and dried out this will make them ark then all your car does is turn over not getting fuelmost times it is the vats (vehicle anti tampering system) that is the electronic chip built into the key this failure will not let the starter crank. sometime cleaning the key and chip with rubbing alcohol will degrease the key and start but most times it is a bad vats module located behind passenger side dash pad. if you can get the car up on a lift check for a12 volt signal to starter when key is turned,if no power try jumpimg the start and the battery wire on starter this should make starter crank.and you know starter is good and not receiving a start signal from vats or neutral safety
