If the engine turns over but will not start your battery cable is NOT the problem. Even if it stated after reattaching the cable. Something else was the problem.If the engine will not turn over then the cable might be your problem. If you took off the cable and then reattached it and then the engine turned over then your cable was not making a good connection with the battery terminal and by reattaching it you improved the connection.

disconnect the negative (black) first then positive (red).
Put correct air pressure in your tire which can be found on the side od the tire. Unhook ur positive battery cable for 15 seconds and reattach it. This will save u shop costs.
Just unhook the positive battery cable for 5 mins.

Unhook the cable from the Cavaliers battery. Find the opposite end of the cable and pull it out. Fit the new cable in following the old cables route. Connect the non battery end of the cable, then hook to the battery.
