Probably a vaccum leak. The vents default to the defrost vents (Windshield) when there is no vaccum. The main vaccum connection is on the throttle body. The thin lines become brittle and break very easily. Good luck finding the leak.
To remove the heater core you have to first rmove the bottom dash panels under where the heater controls are then pull the black box that is pu under the dash and the heater core is under there right where the hose comes through from your thermostate
unbolts from under the hood and then it comes out under the dash.
Probably a vacuum leak. Check under the hood for a cracked or pinched vacuum line.
take the plastic of from the passenger side underneath the dash.. the blower motor is up under their tucked away.. but you can get it after a few hrs of work..
Yes it will leak out where ever it can find an exit point, it is leaking out here because it is actually running beneath the carpet through a canel where there is no adhesive to hold the carpet to the floor. It is actually leaking from the heater core which is located under your dash, either the connection to it or the heating core its self.
The heater core is a small radiator inside the car under the dash that hot water circulates through to heat the inside of the car.
The only heat you have comes from the engine, the fan shroud pushes air through the hoses coming off of it, down into the heater boxes, they pick their heat from the cylinder heads and piston jugs, the air from the fan then pushes it through the heater boxes, through the heater channels, and up to the front the car where it defrosts your front window, also the heat will come out from under the rear seat through the flapper boxes, and also in the front at the door frame.hope that helps.

unbolts from under the hood on the passenger side firewall and comes out from under the dash to replace.
unbolt it from under the hood of the car and then it comes out inside the car to change the core.
There are many things that one can do with an under sink water heater. The most plausible thing one can do is use it to heat their water so that hot water comes out of the faucet when the correct knob is turned.
Your heater core is actually under the dashboard. The hoses connect through the firewall. Check out this YouTube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LsZoFoiJsdw
