I just rebuilt mine for $66 in parts and my labor. Much cheaper than buying an aftermarket or OEM replacement. It's a bear to get it out, but hey..you gotta do that no matter which way you choose (unless you are paying someone to do it for you, that is). Mine never missed a lick after I rebuilt it.

Under the inlet manifold. Black steel canister type, about 100mm x 50 mm.
The 1994 Toyota pickup truck starter mounting bolts can be found on the head of the starter. There will be three mounting bolts.
remove the neg battery cable then the wires on the starter. Then take out the mounting bolts and work the starter out.

Could be that the battery is dead or the starter is bad.
