When you disconnect the starter, you disconnect the battery. Take too long to change out the starter and the computer will lose its charge. The ECM will relearn fairly quickly its fuel mixture setup (100-300 miles). The only thing that hurts is usually the SEC lock on the stereo. If you don't know the 4 digit code you have problems only the dealer can fix.
Starter solenoid is on the starter, trans solenoid is on the trans.
Starter solenoid is on the starter. Trans solenoids are on the valve body, in the trans.
Mounted to the starter.
What about the overdrive needs reset? If it isn't working, then you need to have the computer checked for codes, you need to check trans fluid. etc...
If you mean for fuel mix etc comp will reset and relearn after a long enough battery disconnect. As long as engine trans combo matches computer you are fine. If you did a swap, you don't reset it, you get an ECU that matches your combo
There are computer chips in the engine, trans, abs, airbag computers. Also in some door switches, the radio. None of the switches are replaceable with out changing the entire component. There are computer chips in the engine, trans, abs, airbag computers. Also in some door switches, the radio. besides the engine you need all the wiring, sensors, starter, computer, etc
Changing the battery will have no effect on the shift pattern of the transmission unless the car has a computer controlled electronic transmission. In that case it will take the computer a few trips to relearn how you drive and calibrate the shift points. Same thing happened to my grand Am 2001, 10 min computer reset did the trick. turn key to on, without starting, let sit for 10 mins, switch off and start up, trans shift problem corrected
The starter should be between the engine and trans on the right side of the truck. Disconnect battery, remove wire from starter to battery. There should only be 3 bolts attaching the starter to the trans bellhousing.
The starter solenoid is on the starter. The transmission solenoid is on the front of the trans.
does not have one
GM vehicles do not have a fuel pump reset switch.
