What i have heard if it is worse when it is cold out there is a gas filled unit down by the transfer case that engages your front end that goes bad.

All Range Rovers are full time 4x4 and have a locking centre diff, in a 1995 Range Rover the centre diff is a viscous coupling and locks automatically if it is functioning correctly. Katie
