Overdrive is the normally allowed position If the vehicle is shut off and then restarted , the overdrive will be allowed To turn off the overdrive feature , the button on the end of your gear selector has to be pushed and the O/D OFF light comes on in your dash ( if you push the button again the O/D OFF light will go out and the overdrive feature is allowed )
where is the ect pwr button located on a 1997 avalon? the light came on and my husband assumed he must have pushed a button by mistake.
Even after pushing the overdrive cancel button again ? to allow the overdrive feature On my Ford Explorer with the column shift automatic , the overdrive switch is on the end of the gear selector lever
The O/D OFF light will show in your gauge cluster if the button on the end of your gear selector lever ( P R N D etc. ) has been pushed . Push the button again or shut off the Expedition and the next time it is started , the overdrive is normally allowed and the O/D OFF light does not show . If the O/D OFF light is flashing , that indicates that a malfunction has been detected
it located on the headlight control pull out
If you don't want the automatic transmission to shift into overdrive, press the button on the end of the gear selector lever. An indicator light will come on in the bottom right corner of your guage cluster displaying O/D OFF
Overdrive is normally allowed , if the overdrive switch that is located on the end of your gear selector ( P R N etc .) is pushed , the O/D OFF light will come on in your gauge cluster If you push the button again , or shut the vehicle off and restart it , the O/D OFF light will shut off indicating that the normally allowed overdrive feature is functioning ( sounds normal to me )
Has the override button been pushed, that will shut them down.
