Under the dash attached to the brake pedal lever.
the brake pedel pushes a switch right on top of the pedel lever it can come loose or go bad. check fuses first
If your question is what I think it is than the answer is yes. There is a switch that turns your brake lights on, it is also the same switch that releases the gearshift that will allow you to remove the vehicle from park. You should be able to hear a little click when you depress the brake pedel. If you don't hear that click and your brake lights are not coming on and you cant get it out of park than I would definitely take a look at that switch, It is usually located right on the pedel mechanism itself.
adgust the brake light switch at the brake pedel under the dash
check if you have break lights. if you don't. change your break pedel switch. I had the same problem with my 1998 ford tarus.
brake light switch is mounted by the brake pedel remove lower panel above brake pedel and then you will see the switch should be able to turn the switch to replace
The switch is easy to install. Its down by your break pedel simply twist it and it comes out. The stop light extension harness has a little metal bar on it. Push this down and the switch pops right off.
the switch is located on the cluch pedel just like a bracke switch
If the brake lights stay on even when the car is off I would suggest checking the pedel itself. There should be a plastic/rubber plug that rests against the switch that controls the brake lights. If this plug falls out or becomes damaged then the pedel shaft never compresses the switch to an off position. Other than that you might want to look at a wiring diagram and trace the brake switch circuit to make sure there isn't a short in the circuit. I had this problem on an 87 Sentra years ago so I imagine Nissan hasn't changed the design in their cars all that much. Hope this helps.
the clutch safety switch is located under the dashboard, on most cars, it is connected directly to the clutch pedel.
I think it is a clutch operated switch mounted on the clutch pedel up under the dash.
There is a pressure switch under the brake pedel arm. If that switch goes bad and they do, then it needs to be replaced. The unit will normally go bad from someone that likes to ride the brake or hit the brake more then what is needed. Below is a link to the said unit. http://www2.partstrain.com/store/?PN=7129&N=0&VN=4294967261+4294966246+4294966082+4294966211+4294966877&Nr=AND(universal:0)
ther is a switch in side the car on the brake pedel more than likely it is sticking if you lift the pedel the lights should go out ==More Info== The previous respondant is correct about the brake switch. It is located under the dash, behind the brake pedal's arm that comes down from the arm's pivot point above. The switch has a little spring-loaded plunger that the arm presses "in" when you put your foot on the brake. The switch has a threaded portion on the body with a nut you can loosen. I believe the switch has "disconnect-able" wires so you can pull it out for inspection, repair, or replacement. The plunger may be dirty or roughened up in which case you can clean and recheck for smooth action before returning it to service in your vehicle. If you have a continuity tester, you can check for continuity as the plunger goes in and out to make sure it's working right. There is one other possiblity, the body of the switch may be adjustable to make sure the brake pedal is going to be able to press it in when you brake and let it out all the way when you take your foot off. The threaded part of the switch may allow adjustment of the switch so the plunger is fully extended when the brake arm is at its normal return position. If the pedal is still pushing on the plunger when your foot off the pedal, then you may be able to adjust the body of the switch so that the plunger is allowed to fully extend when there is no force on the pedal. This will allow the switch to "open" and turn the brake lights off. ther is a switch in side the car on the brake pedel more than likely it is sticking if you lift the pedel the lights should go out
