My 1995 Ford Explorer has also done that occasionally
( although I have removed the ignition key as soon as I open the drivers door , the key in ignition chime starts " going " )
What I do is put the ignition key back in and then remove it again and the chime will stop
Give that a try

Yes you can undo the false alarm after you start the ignition.
my 93 sl2 does the same thing. the "center" of the ignition sticks "in" (depressed) when removing key. i always just "pop" it out and the alarm stops.
how to disarm the factory alarm on a 2000 lincoln navigator
Insert the ignition key into the ignition and turn it to on, the alarm should shut off.
Most alarms have an ignition cut off as part of the system, on the steering column the ignition wire should be cut and an alarm wire spliced into it connected to a relay, when you disarm the alarm power is supplied to the relay allowing you to start it. If you intend to keep the alarm off you need to find where they spliced into this wire and reconnect it.
You can disable the speed alarm by removing the speed alarm fuse. When the fuse is removed the alarm will not sound.
Try pulling the master fuse for the ignition to reset the alarm.
be carefull, removing the aftermarket module can make the car not start, as they may have tapped into the ignition circuit.... check all the WIRING going to their alarm module, and see if they have changed any of the original harness... good luck :)
The 1993 Ford Ranger does not have an alarm override but. You can override the alarm system by removing the alarm system fuse.
