Poor acceleration can be tagged to one or more of the following
1. Closed loop (DTC) mode "is there a check engine light on?"
2. Restricted exhaust "cataylitic converter plugged"
3. Vacuum leaks "check ALL lines, especially on the thunderbirds"
4. Fuel injectors worn or leaking.
5. Low compression "have a wet/dry test performed" to determine overall engine health.
6. TEENAGERS DRIVING YOUR BIRD TO THE GROUND ?
7. Restricted Airflow "check air filter, replace as needed"
you are poor and have no money?
It is designed for economy and built to have a low price tag.
I am having the same problem, and poor acceleration!!
Your 1994 Ford Probe sounds as if it needs a tune-up. The reason for the rough idling and poor acceleration could also be very old motor oil, a very dirty air filter, or clogged fuel lines. It is best to bring the car in for service.
Yes timing can delay your acceleration
Poor cable connections to the battery , or dead battery
Because they usually equate poor acceleration to poor car performance.
Hard starting, loss of power, poor fuel economy, and a blowing noise under full acceleration.
My Ford Contour had this problem. Most of it went away by changing the throttle position sensor. It also had poor acceleration & this also cured most of that. Big tomato
It may have worn spark plugs and or bad spark plug wires, time for a good tune up.
Poor fuel miliage, rough idle, no start, poor acceleration, stalling.
Your timing MIGHT be off if: low power, poor acceleration, poor gas mileage.
