1996 Nissan Pathfinder back door will not open Door is unlocked and I have tried to open from inside and outside. I also used a putty knife to make sure child lock was in the open position.?

you need to remove the door panel. which can be done with the door closed. it's hard but possible. remove the hardware holding the panel on. then lift it up and off the top lip. there is a rod in there that leads to the outside door handle. it gets stuck (rusted) in the down position. free the rod by moving it. then you can open the door. lube the whole thing and it should work.
