If it's both sides then its probably the hazard warning switch that has failed. The relay for both the hazards and the blinkers is built into the switch. Cleaning the switch contacts sometimes works.
You can find the fuse box diagram for a Volkswagen Jetta Trek if you don't have the manual at auto parts stores. You can also contact a local Volkswagen dealer to obtain the manual.

There is no such thing. If they dont work they need replaced.
The 1990 VW Jetta turn signals will not work when the ground wire is broken or corroded. The turn signals may need the lightbulb's replaced.
Either they are both burnt out or they are not getting any power to them. If you dont have a circuit tester then take it to a garage and have them check it out.
They dont work. The bulbs are the most problems. Fix it!
If you use 6 five gallon gas cans in the trunk and your fuel tank on the car about 41 to 42 gallons just dont get rearended or have an accident.
For the PS2 version there is not any indicators (blinkers). I dont think there any on there other consoles ether, but there is a horn and headlights.

the hazard switch has two sets of contacts. when hazards turned on, blinkers cannot work, even if hazards dont work.for blinkers to work, hazard sw must be in off position-this reconnects blinker circuits to work normally. BUT-the contacts in the hazard sw get dirty and wont reconnect the blinkers to work
you dont change oil on a transmission
Blown fuse, or defective flasher relay if all the bulbs are good.
