Yes, and change the filter, and check the pump seals.
p1744 is a transmission trouble code. this has to do the torque converter clutch and usually means mechanical failure. normally pulling the trans and at least changing the converter and or freshening up the trans. thanks
I would recommend it being trouble-shooted. IT may be multiple problem related. It may be a lack of maintenace problem, or a loss of fuel or spark problem, or a transmission problem-torque converter or shift solenoid problem.
This code is for the transmission The Direct clutch speed sensor. Have it tested most likely it has to be replaced. Had the same problem myself and managed to fix it by replacing the sensor.
Trouble code P0741 means:Torque converter clutch, circuit performance problem or stuck in off position
They all are problems with the transmission. Torque converter solenoid, 1-2, 2-3 shift solenoids, etc. It's fairly uncommon for all of them to go out at once. I wouldn't know where to begin looking for a problem on that transmission.
Had same problem with 1998 ford contour gl. Replaced transmission range sensor and problem stopped.
Trouble code P0732 means: Incorrect gear ratio, second gear Trouble code P0741 means: Torque converter clutch, circuit performance problem or stuck in off position Trouble code P0743 means: Torque converter clutch circuit, electrical problem Trouble code P0745 means: Pressure control solenoid malfunction
Look up "caveat emptor". That's roughly translated to "no".
You may have a transmission problem. Have the computer scanned for Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
Trouble code P0740 means:Torque converter clutch circuit malfunction
Trouble code P0845 means: Transmission Fluid Pressure Sensor/Switch B Circuit. You will need a mechanic to troubleshoot this problem.
Trouble code P0430 means: Catalyst System Efficiency Bank 2 Below ThresholdFirst at all, replace 2 sensors before and after converter. If problem still exist, replace the converter with the new one.Goodluck
