Yes, a PATS (Passive Anti-Theft System) key can unlock the doors of a Ford Explorer, provided that the key is programmed to the vehicle's specific security system. PATS keys contain a transponder chip that communicates with the vehicle to allow it to start. However, if the key is not properly programmed or is not the correct key for that specific vehicle, it may not function as intended.

To disarm the alarm system on a 1993 Ford Explorer, you typically need to use the key fob to unlock the doors. If you don't have the fob, inserting the key into the driver's side door and turning it to unlock can also deactivate the alarm. If the alarm continues to sound, you may need to start the vehicle or disconnect the battery temporarily to reset the system. Always consult your owner's manual for specific instructions related to your vehicle.
