sticking float on the fuel pump, or malfunction in the float
My fuel gauge, odometer and radiator gauge isn't working and my radio says locked. How can I fix this?
Head gaskets!!
Most of the time it's the fuel level sender in the fuel tank if your gauge moves around a bit but doesn't read correctly. If the Gauge is stuck on full all the time, the gauge itself is broken.
needs a thermostat
is the coolant disapeering at all ?
THE temp sending unit 4 the inside gauge usally has 1 wire & the sending unit 4 the Computer has 2 wires.
ground wire from tank to frame needs to be cleaned and remounted
Hi, It sounds like you have a fuel level sensor that is starting to go bad. This sensor is located in the fuel tank, and depending on the age of the van, will probably have to be replaced.
If the gas gauge in your Chevy Venture is stuck in the full position, it could be due to a faulty fuel level sender, a wiring issue, or a malfunctioning instrument cluster. First, check the connections to the fuel level sender for any loose or damaged wires. If the wiring looks good, it may be necessary to replace the fuel level sender or the entire instrument cluster. Consulting a mechanic or referring to the owner's manual for troubleshooting steps may also help diagnose the issue.
I had this happen to me and it was caused by something in the gas and did something to the sending unit in the gas tank. The dealership replaced the sending unit in the gas tank when my van was under warranty.
The fuel gauge on a Chevy may become stuck if the sending unit is defective or become disconnected. Without a signal from the tank, the gauge will not move.
