Moisture is getting into the distributor cap. It evaporates when it gets warm out. Replace it.
A part has failed. Find where the leak starts, and fix that part.

Chrysler didn't have factory installed remote starts in 1998. Factory installed remote starts came in the 2007 years. It was likely installed at a dealer when the car was bought.

Your car does not have a mass airflow sensor. It does sound like you are getting moisture in some electrical component. The first step would be to check the car for check engine light codes.
