My 2000 D250 turbo diesel hesitates and all the gauges go crazy when it is shifting in to gear at around 60kms and 80kms. I had it in and they thought it maybe the air filter. It wasn't still going it.
That is an indicator to upshift with a manual transmission.
sticking governor,
2000 Dodge Ram Van need help my transmission down shifts and won't upshift
If you press the gas pedal down far enough it will downshift into the next lower gear.
Dodge Automatic Shifts HardThe downshift linkage that connects the throttle body to the transmission is either frozen or out of adjustment. Frozen linkage is common problem for Dodge automatics.
I believe that it is located about midway down behind the radiator. I followed the intake tube and that seems to go int the ETC, weird place for it in my opinion,> i need to replace there ETC ( throttle body) as after cleaning the ending ( iwas trying to get rid of it) , it started behaving badly, engine RPM's will not go above 2500 rpm, no matter when you depress throttle. I found that I can at least drive the car and get it to upshift if I back off the throttle and let it upshift, but when I have to stop the trans does not downshift and bucks like hell. I quickly put in neutral and back into drive and it solves that problem. Still I need to replace TB the are available for about 180 online
if it has a manual transmission it would be the upshift indicator. it will come on to tell you the optimum shift point for fuel economy as you are driving.
mine was doing the same now it is doing it with when i shift to drive Probable internal trans failure.
The real problem is manually shifting from gear to gear with an automatic transmission. If you are referring to the automatic upshift, there may be a problem with the EGR system or vacuum system.
air bag fuse
