If it turns over but acts like no fuel try replacing the fuel pump relay and main engine relay together. These relays are famous for acting up when they get alot of miles on them. There only about $ 16.00 each at Kia dealer. Remember on Sportages keep it simple. Don't throw alot of money at a problem, like fuel pump etc, usaually it is something simple. Saying that , when was the timing belt changed, check it too.
