i dont believe you can do that, unless you take out the fuse that makes the lights come on automatically
There are 3 Oxygen sensors (at least) on the 98 model -- I'm certain there is one in each exhaust manifold and one after the catalytic converter. There might also be one in front of the catalytic converter, but I dont think so. Best bet is to get the Chilton manual or climb under and examine the exhaust system.

all my lights work except my break lights, when i push on the peddle they dont go on can you help me?
Some Metros had this problem as a result of bad wiring from the factory. First make sure the bulbs work. If they dont, replace the wiring for the back lights (I had to do this on mine). It's a little pricey but worth it for a good car.
