Cracked head or blown headgaskets

It is important to maintain the proper fluid levels in a car. The 1998 Subaru Legacy wagon holds 4 1/2 quarts of oil.
You should check your fluid levels, your oil and coolant.

A head gasket is leaking or the Head is cracked.
no but antifreeze in oil will eat the bearings
No, oil is lighter than antifreeze.
NO! Take it to a mechanic immediately. Call AAA at once, if you are a member. Oil is not antifreeze and antifreeze is not oil!
My 1997 legacy gt sedan takes 4.8 quarts of oil.
You don't. I refilled the antifreeze in my 99 Subaru Legacy L 30th, ann. edition last year and haven't needed an ounce since. You probably have a leak that's hard to find. Keep in mind that a warped head gasket can also be a source of anitfreeze or oil leaks internally on an engine. Keep an eye on your oil level, as well as the cleanliness of the oil. If you suspect it's going inside the engine somewhere, I would suggest you bring it to a mechanic.
the oil would look gray if its gray the head gaskets busted
