err yes ive just had the same problem with a 2000 1.4 16v.
Mine had a new ecu, new coils, new CAT, new plugs etc.
I took it to a local specialist who did all the normal tests.....he then suspected a dodgy injector.....all were removed and serviced.......runs like a dream now :o)
seven hours of labour at £39 per hour is what I was charged at my local garage to change the clutch in our Renault Scenic. Comments anyone?
It will have to go to a garage with the correct equipment to have it reprogrammed, its not possible to do this at home.Hope this helps
iam afrade you will have to have a walk to your local Renault garage as i belive there a Renault part only and are around £150
THE GARAGE WILL TELL YOU THAT THE BUMPER NEEDS TO COME OFF..I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY A VERY GOOD SOURCE THAT IF YOU PULL THE WATER FILTER HOSE OF THE WATER BOTTLE YOU CAN GET TO THE BULB..SO NO BIG BILL FROM THE GARAGE...
heater control unit required about £60-00 off of E bay.Get local garage to fit , but not Renault main dealer , they will charge a re morgage to fit it.Good Luck.
I have a scenic 06 plate. My wipers have stopped working about 4 times in the last 6 months, which is not an enjoyable experience when on the motorway in the rain. I have to switch the ignition off and on to get them working again. Just about to book it into the garage (to probably have them tell me they 'can't find anything wrong with them sir'.)
I've seen several quotes on the web from £900 by a main dealer, and anything from £200 to £450 from an independent garage. Hope this helps, Paul.
This will vary, I personally have just had a quote on my 1.6 scenic for timing belt plus tensioners plus water pump plus labour at £260. But this will vary from garage to garage. I would not recommend that you do this job yourself if you are not a mechanic, as a mistake can be costly, if fitted incorrectly and it snaps it could bend up your valves, meaning a rebuild of the head, or replacement of head ( cheaper if got from scrapyard.)
If its a Grand Scenic the fuse is in that contraption under the bonnet (NOT the glove compartment). Renault wanted to charge £40 just for the diagnostic and were already guessing it was a £200 new motor, and a couple of other places were convinced it was a glove box fuse, find a friendly garage they'll fit a new fuse for £15, worth it because it is very fiddley andd you need the fingers of a surgeon. the Grand Scenic is the perfect vehicle for making Renault money for lots of little electrical faults, getting from A to B is more of a challenge
During shutting the roof on my 2001 Renault megane, I turned the engine off by mistake which jammed the process. I took to a garage where they managed to get the roof shut for security, but now it just beeps when I try to get the roof open --- any suggestions what I need to do to get it working again?
Ours does not have a spare (cos the extra 2 seats are under the boot cover) but a bottle of "gel" that should seal a small puncture for long enough to let you pump the tyre and get to a garage for a spare. JJ
take it to a proper garage
