Turn on the ignition, but don't start the car. On the right stalk there is a toggle switch that hinges up and down, and is used for going through the different features of the display. When the display shows 'Service Due' press and hold the top part of this switch for 10 seconds until the dispaly resets and it shows 30,000km or whatever until next service.

all of the above is correct apart from pressing the toggle button. if you instead press the bottom toggle button for 10 seconds the display will start to flash. Keep button depressed and 5 seconds later the service counter will reset.
That's easy...
If you have a lot of money go to the Renault Service center to have it reset.
On the other hand, if you dont have a single penny but u have some tools then do the following.
1. Remove Negative battery terminal for about 15minutes to allow the resistors/capacitors of the faulty light to turn off.
2. after 15 minutes put back the negative terminal and start your engine.
3. Dont be shocked if no lights appear...
4. Turn off your engine and turn on again then your problem is solve.

Scroll through the trip computer until you get to the "change oil soon message/miles to next service" displayed.
Press and hold the mileage trip reset button on the speedo until the display flashes, and then stays fixed. This can take a few seconds.

To check the automatic gearbox oil level on a 2002 Passat TDI Estate, pull out the dipstick with the gearshift in neutral. Let the engine run and check on the oil level.Ê
Its bad news mate definetly not for the faint hearted, you need to remove the subframe from the bottom and drop the complete engine and gearbox from there sounds simple ? not really nuts and bolts are put in the most awkwerd places, if you got air con it gets even more fun. i just changed a clutch on one and its been a somewot of a nightmare, we did try to lift from the top as this can be acheived but it turned easyer to go down. once you got there the rest is simple as far as changing the gearbox is concerned. sorry to be the bearer of bad news mate but i just had to do it my self jason

You can reset the service light by bringing of the oil life monitor on your display. Hold the scroll button in until the oil life goes to 100 percent. This should reset your service light.
As far as I know you can drive it in for repair when the check engine light is
flashing indicating an engine cylinder misfire . Just avoid any heavy /
rapid acceleration or deceleration because you can damage the catalytic
converter ( P.S. I'm not a mechanic / technician )
