I have the same truck as you do, and I am sorry to say that this year model doesn't have an in-line fuel filter. You will have to replace the fuel pump which is located in the fuel tank. This part itself will run you around $250, not including the labor to drain and remove fuel tank :(
Is your truck shacking?
under the middle rear, either side in line filter.
Dodge doesn't use inertia switches.
Where can I get a free copy of a 1995 Dodge Dakota Sport Owners Manual
In the fuel tank with the pump
The fuel filter is in the gas tank, along with the pump. You will not be able to change this filter, unless you change the pump too.
Yes
There is no serviceable fuel line filter on your truck. The only fuel filter is part of the fuel pump assembly in the fuel tank. Like a screen strainer. I had owned a 1998 Dodge Durango with the same setup.
Yes.
A 1999 Dodge Dakota does not have an inertia switch. The fuel system is computer controlled with relays.
The fuse box on the Dodge Dakota Sport (1998 model) is to the left of the steering wheel and is accessible only when the drivers side door is open.
