Gurus have been into Philosophical Life for .. decades than a normal man (not only a Hindu). The Guru (or a teacher) has a clear insight of the complex duty called Life. They may teach you 100 things but it may only be 2 things that may change your life. Hindus love talking philosophical matters.
Most Hindus do not eat meat although many do. It it best to ask that person if he is strict vegetarian or not. If, he is strict vegetarian, then you can go to market and buy anything that has a V ( Vegetarian ) sign on it. Common things that are not Vegetarian are Lasagnia, Sheperd's pie and eggs although many ice-creams and salads also contain gelatin from animals. Take care not to but these things but buy everything else that bears V mark. And, if that person is not Veggie, like most Hindus are nowadays, you can serve anything that you like.
All things except Madira..
Hindus are expected to practice ahimsa very camely
Saying anything about all Hindus is tricky because Hindus are so many and so diverse. However, in general Hindus would say that good or bad things happen because it is a person's Karma for those good or bad things to happen. Karma is the idea that a thing that you do, say, or think is a cause and will have an effect on you and others in the future. Therefore, all things that happen have a previous cause.
Hindus do a number of things with the Qur'an including reading it, ignoring it, or opposing the violence that plagues Indian societies because of the divisions between monotheists and polytheists in the Qur'an. As for what Jews think, Jews think a wide variety of things, but I have yet to meet a Jew who actively thinks about what Hindus might or might not do with a Qur'an.
Hindus pray to god at aarti. They use little diyas to do aarti. This is the time where Hindus think of god and that we should sing to them, so that they can be happy for all the good things they did for us today.
