At minimum you would probably need a 2 1/2 - 3 inch clamp binder. It depends on the weight and density of the paper. To be on the safe side I would go with a 4inch clamp binder. Hope this helps :)
You can put up to a 2 inch pipe into a 4 inch. If you are putting 4 inch to 4 inch, either take out a section of the cast and put the PVC in or cut out a section and connect the PVC to the cast with rubber sleeves meant for this. You can use a saddle clamp for the 2 inch. It is a half round piece of PVC with a 2 inch connection in it. It is held on with two U bolts that go around the cast pipe. Put it where you need it and mark the 2 inch hole on the cast. Drill a series of 1/8 inch holes around this circle. when you get them all drilled, you can break out the plug. Try to keep it from falling into the cast pipe. Put the saddle clamp on and connect the PVC pipe as needed. Seal the saddle clamp to the cast pipe with plumbers putty.
If you are talking about the in dash unit then yes provided you have the old spring. Mine had the 2 plastic nubs that hold the spring break so I removed the unit and drilled 2 1/8 inch holes through the plastic where the nubs were and that lined up with the holes in the spring and secured it with 2 1/8 inch rivets. Probably better than new now. HTH
You go to Rona or Home Depot and buty a new end or coupling. For ends, just trim off the last inch and fit new end, tighten clamp. For coulpling cut 1/2 inch either side of hole or crack, make sure you have 2 good ends, fit a clamp over each, then force coupling into both pipes, tighten clamps.

The energy stored in a spring in a pinball machine before it is released is potential energy. When the spring is compressed, it gains potential energy due to the elastic potential energy stored in it. This potential energy is then converted into kinetic energy when the spring is released, propelling the pinball into motion.
