Yes. I dont know how but all 2000 Chevy Cavaliers were made in a way (i dont know which way) making the transmission easy to crack. You do need to remove the transmission and fix or replace it. Most Dealers will give you a discount for a fix if you complain the right way

I am experiencing the same problem. I have a mechanic friend you has not looked at my truck suggested unbolting the motor mounts and jacking the tail of the transmission I have not tried this yet but plan to in the morning.
The Overdrive Light flashing indicates an internal transmission problem which could be caused by anthiny inside the transmission. Most likely the transmission would have to be removed and taken apart to find the problem.
