2000 Dodge Neon that blows the brake light fuse most times when you start it They will work forever if you replace the fuse while it is running but most times when you restart the car the fuse blows?

I had the same problem on my srt-4. The wiring harness for the brake lights is located behind the clutch pedal, so when I push the clutch in hard it would rub the wires and wore a bare spot on it. So when I would hold the clutch in for a long time it would blow the fuse for the brake lights. I ended up fixing the bare wire and relocated the harness above the clutch pedal and haven't had a problem since.
