im having the same issue with my 2002 celica gt just one click and nothing did you ever figure this out?
Clicking can mean a loose connection between battery and starter. Follow wire to starter and clean/tighten connector at starter.
2001 Toyota celice act like it want to start but won't can not get the window to go up
If it has spark & fuel and will not start then the timing may be off.
Could be poor battery connection.
For Ignition. Your car will not start if this fuse blows, generally if there is a short.
1990 toyota celica when jumper cables are hooked up dash lights turn on but the car won't turn over won't even click
Check your alternator and if that isn't it (but sounds like it) take a look at your starter.
It could have a leaky carburetor or injector that's causing the engine to flood.
Try changing the starter.
Check the battery cables. If there is no corrosion and you have good connections, then the starter solenoid/relay may be at fault.
The timing "chain"will start rattling at around the 100k to 110k mark. This is when it should be replaced
* Corolla * Cadillac * Cougar * Civic (Honda) * CRX (Honda) * Chevrolet * Corsica * Chrysler * Celica (Toyota)
The starter solenoid/relay switch is going bad. Eventually, it will just click and not start.
I would start by checking any leaks in your exhaust and fuel filter area, if there is any leaks throughout the exhaust the smell of gasoline or exhaust may come through into the interior.
It's sounds like your low on freon.
Your battery is not giving enough power to start the car. It may be battery, alternator, voltage regulator or bad cables.
how do i disable the alarm on my 2001 toyota celica my key fob broke in half and i disabled the horn so it doesn't make noise cause the alarm goes off every second but how do u disarm the alarm cause also the car will not start without the alarm disabled
You need three things to start a car: fuel, air, and an ignition source. Start by checking the air filter, the sparkplugs, and the gas level. If its not one of these it may be your battery or something more serious
Spray a small amount of carburetor cleaner in the air intake and if it starts it is fuel related.
You may want to check your catilick converter or your crankshaft positioning sensor.
Battery is probly good. If it was bad there would usually be a series of clicks while trying to start. If the engine is is too hot then the computer is not gonna let the vehicle start. If it is not over heating then the coolant temp sensor is probably failing. This is what tells the engine what the the coolant temp is in the engine. Hope this helps some. Of course there are always other factors such as the engine is over heating the starter causing it not to start. Stuff like that. Impossible to say for sure. Just gicing you some things to check. Good luck.
Bad battery, starting motor or both.
clicking when trying to start is usually caused by flat battery check charge in battery if not battery ,you need to eplace starter mptor
