How do i remove a stereo in a Toyota Celica?

REMOVE FUSE COVER ASHTRAY AND LITER AND THEN REMOVE TWO SCREWS ONE THE TOP OF THE PANEL HOUSEING AND TWO SCREWS ON THE UNDERNEATH INSIDE IF THE ASH TRAY AND IF INSPECTED FROM UNDERNEATH PRESS BACK THE TABS AND STEREO IS OUT

to add to previous answer after removing the top fuse panel and removing screws you have to remove the cup holder and there should be a couple of extra screws. the cup holder is a pain to remove but with a little persistence it can be done.

Pop off fuse cover. Remove two outer screws: these are the top two of four screws holding the top of the wrapping middle front fascia on, to which the radio assembly is attached. Next remove the little drawer, cigarrette lighter, and ashtray. Next, some models have a cupholder and others have simply a fascia where the cupholder *should* be. The fascia can be removed by pulling straight outwards with some force (careful not to damage your interior surfaces). Then remove the two screws on either side of the cupholder/fascia. After that is removed you finally have access to the two lower screws holding the bottom of the wrapping middle front fascia on (these are just behind and above the screws for the cupholder/fascia). Once these are loose and the two plastic clips nearby are squished inwards the whole wrap-around fascia + radio assembly can be removed together. Careful on the edges as the channels for the vents come with this part & these vehicles are now old enough that the foam/glue surrounding these vents can easily tear/break off.

Found this site http://tarago.blogspot.com/ that contains lots of pictures and a step by step guide. Really helpful for me.

Where is the clock radio fuse box for 2001 Toyota Celica?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

well depending on the make and model...i would start by checking all around the dash board...under it, open both driver and passenger side doors and check the sides of your dash. Sometimes they are in your glovebox( older cars mostly), and if that all fails look under your hood. You could always look in your owners manual as well.

How to replace the Headlight Assembly on a 2000 Toyota Celica GT?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

If you mean replace the headlight bulb they can be removed and replaced by opening the hood. Look at the back of the headlight - there are two separate bulbs for high and low beam on each side. There is a rubber cover on the back of the headlamp for each bulb that needs to be removed.

If you mean replacing the entire headlight assembly then you need to remove the front grill and the front bumper cover.

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

They are between the cams. On top of the engine there are 4 wire bundles in the center of the valve/cam cover connecting to the spark coils. Undo the connectors and remove the single bolt for each one. Lift up the spark coil assemblies and find the spark plugs in the bottom othe hole underneath.

How do you change Toyota Celica dashboard lights?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Sorry, this won't answer your question but maybe point you in a direction.

Also, I have no personal experience with this, but it might save you some time searching to find this same information. This is not all inclusive, and there may be better ways to do it.

For changing the actual bulbs behind the dash, you remove part of the dash and replace the bulbs. There are other sites that can give a more in depth look at the process.

For changing the hue/color of the lights the color is most times determined by pieces of colored plastic actually glued into the dash itself, being backlit by a regular white light. So this may be more challenging then it seems. If you mean the lights in the guages, you still have to remove parts of the dash itself but on some cars, I cannot tell you which, you may be able to change the color by removing a colored plastic piece and replacing it.

For the answer to this question, look in your owner's manual. Don't have one then get one. You need an owner's manual for the maintenance schedule and for questions just like this. Sources for a manual are: Dealer, Salvage Yard, E-Bay, and many on-line sites. Here is one site. http://www.samarins.com/maintenance/manual.html

What is the difference between a Toyota Celica GTS and a Toyota Celica GT?

User Avatar

Asked by Manderson45

Up until the early 1990's the Toyota Celica GT was powered by a 2.2 Liter engine, which produced 110 horsepower. The GTS from that period had a 2.4 liter engine that produced 135 horsepower.

ANSWER: Not sure about the '90's Celicas but in the late '80's, all Celicas had a 2 liter engine with the GT-S having a little bit more powerful engine. The horse power ratings given above are correct though. The GT-S models also have more convenience options. Also usually bigger tires.

ANSWER: 83 and 84 had the 2.4l 22R, while the 85 had the 2.4l 22RE. Aluminum Engine, the Achilles heel of which is that the head bolts came under-torqued... leading to many a blown head-gasket.

Celica's between 2000 and 2005 were 1.8 liter for the GT, and 1.8 litre for the GTS. The GTS featured a more powerful engine with "lift", a 6 speed transmission, and 4 wheel disk brakes. While the GT had less power, a 5 speed transmission, and drum brakes in the back. The GTS typically had a better sound system, although the sound systems was an option available on certain GT models.

Also 2000 to 2002 GT engines had common oil burning issues that were corrected for the 03 models.

Can not put 95 Celica in 2nd 4th and reverse?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

shift linkage is worn out

Reply, Not necessarily.

Remove the console ring around the shifter then the shifter boot. There are two cables that run from the shifter to the transmission which pass through a plastic bulkhead. On the rearward side of the bulkhead are clips which hold the cables in place. Chances are the clip on the right(passenger side) cable is missing.

What causes my Toyota Celica to surge at idle?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

You MAF( mass air flow) sensor might be dirty and wont be recognizing that you have air flowing properly and causes the engine to shut off. Dont worry this happens very often and will eventually happen to everyone. It will also cause youre idle to be 'funny'. i.e. reving to 3000 rpm then back to 1000. Its a very easy fix. theres a write up for it that will explain it a lot better then i will. http://forums.c7performance.com/showthread.php?t=7910&highlight=cleaning goodluck.
