Remove the tranny pan
You can remove the transmission pan or pump it out. If you want to also change the filter, which you should, then remove the pan.

You'll likely have to remove the transmission pan. Perhaps it has a drain plug. Perhaps not. But either way if you change the fluid, you want to change the filter which is underneath the pan. Changing the fluid without changing the filter is not suggested.

I'm sure it's the same as a 2000. Its under the air filter plenum. You have to remove the filter housing to get to it. 3 bolts hold the plenum in.
