light comes on to indicate low oil pressure. it has to be very low for this light to come on, so I would advise you to stop driving this car until you figure out whats wrong. You may severely damage your engine. First check to see if the oil level is good. If not, check for leaks and repair them. If level is good, it is a possiblity the oil pressure sensor is bad(not unheard of), also (bad scenario) your bearings may be wearing out. If you have run your car for a while on low or no oil, this is a definite possibility. This is also not a DIY problem.
