Possibilities include but are not limited to:
* low battery(possibly caused by a faulty battery, alternator problems or "something" that's draining the battery)
* faulty starter * misaligned or faulty neutral safety switch * faulty keyswitch * poor electrical connection
If you turn around a corner and you hear a grinding or clicking noise coming from the front wheels, you may have a CV axle problem. This grinding or clicking will be much worse when turning one direction than turning the other. If the noise is worse when turning left, the right CV axle is to blame, if the noise is worse when turning right, the problem is in the left CV axle. For a bad wheel bearing, you must raise the vehicle so the wheels are off the ground... Grab the tire firmly and try to wiggle it around. A bad wheel bearing will have a lot of play and will wiggle around, a good wheel bearing will be solid and will have very little or no play.
If the squeeling is coming from the tires, then the problem is most likely a misaligned front end. If the squealing is coming from the engine, then the problem would be in the power steering system.
It could be a starter problem....can you tell where the click is coming from? is it the started clicking, or a relay clicking?
My 2000 Expedition had the same problem but on the driver side, when making a left turn. I replaced my CV joint and problem was solved
If it is a clicking or popping sound it is probably a CV joint. If it sounds more like the car is coming apart you might have a broken motor mount.
check to see if the outer or inner boots are torn and grease is coming out. when they start to fail the axle makes a clicking noise during turning.
Where is the clicking coming from? Within the engine compartment or inside the car?
Actually, they are opposites in this regard: 'Coming about' is tacking while turning into the wind, whereas 'Jibing' is tacking while turning away from the wind.
We have had that problem a few times, when it happens it may kept on doing the clicking and then stop on its own, but for immediate results we just stop and turn off the car and wait a few seconds and then start the car again. That's usually stops the clicking. No real long term cure, but good for the short term.
Greetings, I just had the same issue with my Ford Excursion but was doing the clicking noise in reverse and in either 2 wheel drive or 4X4. I went under and checke4d the transfer case shift motor and found the noise coming from there. Changed it and problem solved. Just something to check out. Kenny 130256405201 check out this E-Bay number ( Item # ) Pretty cheap on there for the motor Answer If the noise is coming from inside, the chain has failed.
A loud clicking sound coming from the front of your car when you are driving straight would be the result of a bad CV joint. This is something that should be checked out right away.
I hear a clicking noise coming from my jeep when I hit speeds greater then 50 MPH? any ideas on what can cause this
