If you hear only a single click - most likely solenoid switch Make sure connections clean and tight on solenoid "Pigtail wire" and also solenoid on top of starter (Ford had some problems with corrosion and connections loosening up over a period of time). If you hear multiple Clicks - check battery connections to make sure clean and tight One other "rap" the stater with hammer or whatever and see if vehicle starts indicating bad starter brushes
most likely tha starter is bad or the power to the starter is bad
you can try to short the starter motor . take a screw driver and bridge ffrom battery cable on starter to ignition wire on starter. if starter is good, engine will crank. if starter is bad , solenoid will click if no clicking, solenoid is bad
if i turn the key and all i hear is click- click- click real fast, is that mean i need a new starter?
did it actually crank over or did it kinda crank then click it sounds like maybe the battery doesn't have enough power but if your sure it does i'd guess its your starter. or the selinod
your battery is dead or the starter solenoid
Yes, most likely its the starter if the battery is fully charged and it still wont crank. When you turn the key, you should hear a click. That click is the starter engaging. No click, means the starter is no good.

Batteries don't "click," but other parts do. If you're hearing that "click," it's probably the starter solenoid trying to engage. Either the battery's charge is low, the starter solenoid has failed, or the starter motor itself has failed. On some older cars, especially Fords, the "click" could also be a remote starter relay.
try charging the battery before you replace the starter
When does it click and does it Crank when it is clicking
To give a generic answer, it kinda depends on what type of click. If it is a rapid click-click-click-click... it is probably a dead (or near dead) battery. If it is just one solid "click", it is probably your starter. The single click is the sound of the selinoid clicking in to try to engage the starter. If the starter is faulty, it won't engage and turn your engine over to start.
