My 1996 Windstar had the same problem, I found that the sliding door had some type of swinging switch. Looking into the door latch of sliding door is a square hole with rubber around. I used wd-40 and some other lubes. Each oil change I spray the hole and latch system. On each door is a set of contacts. I use scotch brite pad and clean them on both contact points. It does not so this any more.
Note. When you do this it takes time for the lube to work. After 2 days of moving and such it stops. If you notice the lignt and bell starts when you are stopping or starting. I found this information some years back and it has saved me from trading the van. Good luck. I also found that when my door ajar light was stuck on (liftgate in my case), the interior lights were automatically deactivated. Once the false ajar signal went away, the lights resumed normal behavior.
Also, when the dashboard dimmer wheel switch is in the all the way down position, it deactivates the interior lights - handy for when tail-gating or cleaning the van with the doors open.
the same thing happens to mine........just turn the interior light switch of......it works
The Windstar has a position on the light dimmer scroll-wheel that turns the interior lights off, even with the doors open. Great for at the picnic, tailgate party, cleaning the car, etc, to keep from killing the battery. Make sure the dimmer switch scroll wheel is not all the way up (or is all the way down?) Also - If you have a malfunctioning "door ajar" switch, after some time, the Windstar will deactivate the interior lights. Fix the door ajar warning and the lights will resume normal functions. make sure the glove box light isn't staying on There is something drawing down the battery - and a common problem is the door ajar sensors causing the interior lights to stay on. See "Related Questions" below for more about that.
Well they are interior lights. Usually lights light up (assuming there is power to them and they aren't burnt out.
AnswerInstead of pulling the fuse, fix the source of the problem causing the lights to stay on: sticky door ajar sensors!See "Related Questions" below for solutions to this very common problem.AnswerAccording to my owners manual, the fuse is a 15amp fuse in spot no. 29
Lights inside the car. Dome light, courtesy light, etc.
If they are not exposed at the door jambs they may be like the Lincoln and are inside of the door latches Does your door ajar light stay on? anmd interior lights fade when you step on the brake pedal?
If the interior and parking lights are not working on a 1999 Nissan Pathfinder, the first fuses to check would be the interior light fuse. Also check to make sure the light switch is in the right position to allow the interior lights to come on.
It's located behind the glove compartment in the light delay relay panel.
it is used in cars to control if its dark yet to turn on the lights
There probably is only one cause for your interior lights to go on when you apply the brakes. There probably are brake light wires and interior wires that have warned together.
no, door locks have nothing to do with check engine light.
