2002 C230 when engine starts there are eight intermittent click noises in the dash and then clicking stops. Is this from the fan motor?

No its not from the fan motor, its from a stepper motor, which controls air flow to the drivers side footwell. The linkage for the motor breaks, and causes the clicking noise. There is a updated linkage peice that can be installed.
