The coolent sensor on the 4.3 v6 is located on the left cylinder bank under the master cylinder. You will need to remove the air duct and carb cover. Tie wires out of the way. The old sensor is removed using a 19mm wrench. The steering colume is in the way to use a socket. If you do it fast, very little anti freeze is lost. Be sure to do this out side as it will make a mess in the garage. It took my son about 2 hrs. to change it, only to find out the thermostate was stuck open. Another ten bucks and that was solved total cost was about 25$.
