bad spark plug that happin to me to
Assuming this vehicle has the 4.3 V6 engine, the coil wire is connected to the passenger side rear of the distributor cap and the other end is connected to the ignition coil on the top passenger side of the engine.
I have an 02 Olds Bravada and my compressor quit working. I took it to a mechanic and for 150.00 he replaced the air bag system with coil springs. Much better in my opinion.
its attached to the distributor, right at the base, should have two electrical plugs going into it, one from the coil
The coil
The 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue coil pack is located on the firewall, in the engine compartment. The coil pack will be on the passenger side of the firewall.
Very easily except for cyl #5 and #6. Remove the 2 10mm bolts holding the airbox on and loosen 2 clamps for air intake hose. You will see the 6 coils, remove 10mm bolt holding coil in place, lift out coil and spark plug is readily accessible. Cyl #5 and 6 are a little tight, but not impossible with the right length ratchet ext. hope it helps.
Bad coil wire, bad coil, etc...
If it is a VR6 engine it might be a cracked coil pack. You can check this by spraying a mist of water over the coil pack while the engine is running. If there are cracks sparks will run on the outside of the coil pack. If you do this while it is dark the sparks are often easy to see.
It is pretty complicated (for such an easy task) Buy a 2002 Chevy trail blazer haynes manual. It has the Bravada info in it. in all honesty, I would take it to a shop. I could only get to 5 of the 6 On top of the engine there are six coils lined up from front to back use a 10mm socket to loosen the bolts and below each coil is a spark plug.

There are no plugs has coil for each cylinder
I will take a guess that you have C.O.P ( coil on plug ) Un-screw the small screw that holds the coil, release the wire harness from the plug and just pull the plug boot off. It will come off even with the fuel rail there.
