2002 chev tracker runs good till turn on a.c. them after running awhile it will stop. after cooling off it will restart?

My 2003 did the same thing and after hours of trouble shooting this and that, my dealers mechanic found a bad crank or cam sensor. Its located behind the motor on the top right side.
