It should last the life of the engine and is normally replaced during an engine overhaul.
WHEN SHOULD TIMING BELT BE CHANGED ON A 2000 TOYOTA 4RUNNER SR5? talktoenock@comcast.net
Your 2004 Toyota 4Runner has a timing belt if it is a V8. This belt must be replaced every 90,000 miles. Warning: This is an interference engine. Severe engine damage will be done if the belt breaks. If you have a V6 then it has a chain which should last the life of the engine.
It does not have a timing belt. It has a chain..all 2003 Toyota Corolla Trims S, CE and LE have the same engine, the 1.8Liter 1 ZZ FE, The only engine Toyota makes anymore with a timing belt is the V8 that comes in the Tundra, Sequoia and 4Runner
timing belt
The 2001 3.4 L V6 Toyota 4Runner has a cam belt. The belt must be replaced every 90,000 miles. Warning: This is an interference engine. If the belt breaks you will have serious engine damage.
Toyota Camry 97 has a timing belt that should be replaced every 60,000 miles.

My timing belt slipped on my 1990 tyota 4runner 3.0. The crankshaft mark and camshaft marks do not align. Should i keep the crankshaft aligned and then align the camshaft marks?.
