Most maintenance required lights are reset by: 1. insert key into ignition 2. press and hold the trip meter button 3. turn the key to on position after few seconds, the light goes off and you can let go of the trip meter button

The maintenance required light comes on aeveryfew thousand miles. After you get an oil change the mechanic is supposed to reset that for you. I would take it back and have it done, or google it and do it yourself.
