under dashboard
you have to buy it from a auto parts store, about $30.00.
where can i find a timing chain diagram fo 2004 jeep liberty
left one is exhaust and right one intake, set to the cam timing marks, do not forget the crankshaft timing marks too, there are 2 of them also.
On the V6 its in the block between the two heads and right behind the timing chain
The thermostat housing is behind the camshaft sprocket. Remove timing covers and belt then remove camshaft sprocket and then rear timing cover. .
You don't, the timing is computer controled and needs no attention unless the timing gears strip in which case you properly align the camshaft and crankshaft before slipping on the new gears&chain or timing belt if so equipped.
We find timming mark on the oil pump or on the block ,crankshaft sprocket and on the camshaft sprocket.
Try this site: http://autorepair.about.com/od/enginefiringorders1/ Good luck.
You can find it on the crankshaft pulley and there is a hole in the camshaft pulley which must be line up with the mark on the cylinder head at TDC.
The engine timing marks are on the camshaft and crankshaft pulleys, theyll line up with a metal plate just above the top pulley, and the bottom pulley will line up with a knotch which you will find on the pulley itself and just above it.
You can find it under the upper timing belt cover next to the camshaft gear. But you do not need to remove the cover to replace it. There is a mounting bolt which you have locate. It should be attached to the cylinder head but it might not easy to reach.
