I have a 2005 Toyota Prius and I have done several minor repairs without problems; 12 v battery replacement, oil changes, wiper blade replacement, fuse replacement, air filter, in-cabin filter, light bulb replacement, tire rotation, installation and removal of tire chains, but basically my 2005 has not needed much. I purchased a Haynes repair Manual for this vehicle and you can do most normal repairs but with the Prius all the High Voltage systems are color coded "bright orange," those are the areas to be careful with. Get a manual, it is a good reasonably priced car accessory.
