I would not recommend doing so. There is too much of a risk of the heat from the engine of the mower causing the gas vapor to combust. It should be okay if you were able to patch it however and it would not be necessary to purchase a new tubing or tank.
Exhaust leak possibly...
It needs to be replaced.
No, seals are cheap, engines expensive.......
Dirty or stuck open needle valve in carburetor.
Hi, The float valve is leaking through. The fuel can leak in the intake and down into the crankcase, where it dilutes the engine oil.
Inlet needle in carb sticking open; it runs in through the carb.
yes
If you tilt the mower to get at the blade for sharpening, or go down a particularily steep slope, gas will run from the tank out through the filter.
Float is bad in Carb or needle valve not closing causing fuel to leak into cylinder
It is normal for it to cycle on and off. If, however it is cycling on and off rapidly then your system has a leak and is low of refrigerant. Have the leak repaired and the system recharged by a professional.
There are products at your local auto parts store such as Epoxy Ribbon, JB Weld, and others that don't require heating you can use to patch the leak. Be sure and follow the directions on the package. You can't BEAT KENT'S ALL IN ONE.
fill tank, to top of neck, watch the leak area, [don,t start it]
