If you are 35 weeks' pregnant and 1 cm dilated and about 40 percent effaced and having strong contractions would taking castor oil help move things along?
At 35 weeks why would you want to hurry things along? You will birth a preemie with complications if you deliver now. It is unsafe to induce or encourage labor before 39 weeks unless you have specific medical complications that make continuing the pregnancy unsafe.
How can you induce labor if you're 37 weeks 2 days and 3 cm dilated 40 effaced and the baby's head is sitting at -2 right on your cervix and you literally are bowlegged with his head?
Answer . You can try nipple stimulation and raspberry leaf tea, but don't worry it will happen eventually.\n. \n Answer \n. \nIf he is at -2 he is not sitting directly on your cervix but is farther up in your uterus. The bowlegged feeling is normal at the end of a pregnancy from the dilati…on of your cervix and the stretching of the ligaments, so don't worry he's not really right between your legs! Im 36 weeks and 1 cm dilated my doctor thinks ill go into labor within the next 2weeks if that. how accurate can she be about that you have also already had preterm labor but they stopped it?
Answer . \neeh.. my doctor said the same thing when i was pregnant with my daughter. I went into preterm at 26 weeks, they stopped it, then at 36 weeks i started dialating. i was 50% and 1 cm.but i stayed that way from 36 weeks to 41.1 weeks.good luck :O)
Answer . \nTHIS DEPENDS BUT GENERALLY SPEAKING NATURE ALLOWS A HEALTHY BABY TO BE BORN AT THIS AGE. IF BABIES HEART BEAT IS STRONG BABY'S WELL LUNGS MEDICALLY DR AT STAGE LETS NATURE TAKE ITS' COURSE FOR DRLIVERY. YOU CAN GO INTO LABOUR FROM 2 HRS ON, DEPENDING IF YOU ARE MEDICALLY FIT, LED A HE…ALTHTY LIFESTYLE. NO ONE CAN TELL YOU FORCERTAIN, EXCEPT A MIDWIFE OR OBSTETRIAN WITH YOU. ALSO, HAVING OTHER CHILDREN IS SUPPOSED TO QUICKEN THINGS UP. FROM MY OWN EXPERIENCES BOTH MY LABOURS WERE VERY DIFFERENT, AS WELL AS THE BIRTHS. . . . . GOOD LUCK ( Full Answer )

When you are 38 weeks and 1Cm dilated having horrible back and leg pains and also having menstrual cramps is this a sign of labor coming soon?
In labour Back pain - particularly lower back pain can definitely be an indicator of labour onset. Labor pains are exactly the same as menstrual cramps, so you may be going into labor. Unfortunately they may die away and come back later, it is very frustrating. If they are getting frequent and regu…lar see your labor provider. You have probaly had your babe by now, good luck. How long does it take to go into labor if you are 37 weeks 4 cm dilated and fully effaced but baby hasn't dropped?
Answer . \nThe baby can drop in labor. It is always not easy to distinguish when the baby drops. I have had 3 children and never knew when they dropped I only knew when labor kicked in.
When will you go into labor if you are 35 weeks and 6 days pregnant and dilated 4 cm and having mild cramps?
Answer . I canot tell without a crystal ball, which I do not own. Normal geststion is 40 weeks, you really don't want to have your baby early even though everyone is very tired of being pregnant by this stage of pregnancy. The last four weeks of your pregnancy may be the longest month of your li…fe! Be patient and don't do anyhting to try to "induce"\nlabor, nature has it all figured out and usually the baby will come when it is supposed to. Generally between 38 and 42 weeks. ( Full Answer )
You have to go on a ten hour car ride you are 36 weeks pregnant and only 1 cm dilated Will the car ride make put you into perterm labor?
Taking a 10-Hr Ride While 36 Weeks . First off for safety reasons, you shouldn't be in a vehicle for that long. Especially if you don't have a cell phone or know where the local hospitals are on your route.. Second, if you are going to be in a car for that long then be sure to take frequent stop…s to walk around and relax.. I've done that before. I was about the same number of weeks when I decided to take my 3 year old down to South Carolina from North Dakota. That is at least a 19 hour drive with a stop in Missouri and then another 11 hours to South Carolina. I did have some pain from driving but I made it there safe. Make sure to bring a cell phone, take your breaks, and pray. When you get there, pray again and thank whichever God you worship that you made it there without delivering.. But honestly, you shouldn't take the drive. It is really stressful on you and the baby. However, if you are like me and stubborn and independent make sure to follow the rules of having a cell phone and knowing where the hospitals are on your route.. Good luck in your choice. When you are 37 weeks pregnant how soon can active labor start when you are 1 cm dilated and effaced 90 percent?
Theoretically, as long as you are past the point where the fetus is viable, active labor can begin any time in any pregnancy, no matter how much you are dilated or effaced. This means you could go into active labor in four minutes, four days, four weeks, etc. There's really no way to tell.
I am 37 weeks pregnant 2 cm dilated and 80 effaced Today i am having a lot of contractions do you think this is labor How soon do you think I could have this baby?
Answer . id say ure well on ure way! wiv my first i was 3cm wen i went to tha hospital, my labour lasted 11hours from then! good luck!
Answer . Take care of yourself. Take a few days off and put your feet up (rest) and make sure you drink a lot of water, so you are not dehydrated. Hopefully the cramps will go away.
Answer . I would get to an emergency room if I were you, especially if this is your first child.
You are 37.5 weeks 2 cm dilated and 80 effaced I had horrible low back pain for 4 hours straight today but then has gone away and comes back sporadically does that mean labor should be soon?
From 37 weeks on you could go into labor at any time. Well you can before that however it is more common after 37 weeks, well even more so is 38 weeks plus. Being 2cm dilated and 80% effaced can mean that labor will be soon however it can mean that you still have a while. My first was 36 weeks and 5… cm dilated and 50% effaced and stayed that way for 4 weeks and went over her EDD. I'm 37 weeks and my doctor does not even want to check because she said that it really does not make any difference. ( Full Answer )
I am also 1cm dilated and 80% effaced...1 week ago I was 1 cm dilated and 70% effaced. It is different for everyone...Although my DR. said the norm was 3 days after you lose your mucus plug...good luck
I am 39 weeks pregnant and 1 cm dilated and not feeling too many braxton hicks but my dr says that's normal in younger woman my question is WHEN wILl LABOR COME?
Answer . Don't worry about it. There simply aren't any formulas. I never had any Braxton Hicks contractions that I was aware of, and was 7 cm dilated when I went to see my doctor, who thought I'd deliver that afternoon. In reality, I didn't go into labor for another week--which was one week pa…st my due date. Soon your baby will let you know, "It's time!" If necessary, your doctor will have a point at which he or she will make the decision to induce labor, so there's no danger. Best of luck to you. . Answer . Don't worry about it. You were 70 effaced and 2 cm dilated at last weeks docs appt but this week you are still 2cm dilated and 80 effaced do you have a week or two until you go into labor or am you going to go sooner?
My doc says that for first time moms there is no way to tell. Some people stay that way for weeks and some people go within a week from when they are 70% to 80% effaced but it is very good to be getting this much pre-work done - it means you'll probably have a better labor.
You are 40 weeks and 3 days pregnant 4 cm dilated and 100 effaced however things are moving so slowly that you are unsure as to how much longer you should expect to be in labor any testimonials?
IVE BEEN THERE. YEAH YOU'RE ABOUT THERE. I GOT 4 KIDS AND MY LAST WAS OVER DUE (4MTHS AGO) I USED CASTER OIL TO SPEED THINGS UP. 1-3 TABLESPOONS CHASED DOWN WITH ORANGE JUICE SHOULD HELP YOU OUT. OLD MIDWIVES TRICK
I am 37 weeks pregnant with my second child 4 cm dilated and i am 80 percent effaced will labor start soon?
Im 37 weeks and dialted almost four as well, but my doctor told me that it is perfectly normal for woman to walk around up to 8 cm dilated. Every woman is different and when baby's ready to come s/he will come. Theirs no telling when it could be. With my first I didn't even have a warning. I mean I …was cramping on and off for weeks but one day I just started laughind and my water just broke. And, this one theirs nights I've had contractions left and right, a min long but he still hasn't came and I have had less and less sighs of labor as times passed. So, theirs no need to worry yourself more than pregnancy already makes you. When s/he's ready sweetie you'll both know it. ( Full Answer )
Same situation here! But just to let you know hun, it may be tomar, a week, or all the till your 40 weeks, and have to be induced. Every womens body is different. I have been effaced, and dilated since 30 weeks, and here I am 2 and 80 at 36...Hang in there! It maybe a lot longer. . ~~Baby Girl
u can be dilated for up to 3 weeks at 3 cm, although every pregnancy is different try walking alot that always helped me i was 3 cm for a week and had my second child i walked every day for 6 days straight and then i poped the 7th day gl to ya
i had some fluid leak at 32 weeks and went to hospital. the doc said my cervix was long and soft. a soft cervix does not mean labour is on the way, sorry to disappoint!! i am now 35 weeks and baby still in there! unfortunately all labours vary, some women can dilate very quickly and others could tak…e over a week! with my first (this is my second) i had no symptoms on the day, by late night i had some backache, after an hour of back pain i was taken to hospital and told i was fully dilated! i was 37 weeks. my friend was 1cm dilated for 3 days and her entire labour lasted over a week, dilating slowly and painfully everyday or so. with my second baby tho, the head descended quite painfully at 30 weeks and i have been 3/5 engaged since then with a soft and long cervix. this means the cervix is thick - no sign of labour or dilation. walking definitely helps baby move down and ease your labour pains as well as occupy you in labour. sex is also a great way to help baby descend further, the semen ripens the cervix and helps dilation and your own orgasm helps encourage baby to move down. Castor oil is meant to help but can give you the runs and may pass through the placenta so imagine what it does to baby. in my opinion, curry, pineapple and raspberry tea are old wives tails!! 35 weeks is a bit early, at least 3 weeks early as normal gestation is 38-42 weeks, but the baby still has a good chance of survival at this stage. He may need breathing tubes after delivery because this is when the lungs are developing so that he can breathe when he is born, but the success rate is… actually very high (at least it is in the US), especially considering there aren't any (or many) other high risk factors involved. Three centimeters isn't much, considering that you need to reach 10 cm for a vaginal delivery. Seven centimeters is a long way to go! Effacing is the thickness (or thinness) of the cervix. 100% is paper-thin. If you are a first-time mom, the cervix will usually efface before it dilates. Subsequent births will usually dilate before it effaces. Dilation must catch up to effacement before vaginal delivery can occur properly. So, if you are a first time mom, you probably still have a way to go. New mothers usually have a relatively long labor along with fairly quick delivery. Subsequent births, probably still have a way to go, but it may also come quicker. Previous mothers usually have a faster labor along with a fairly quick delivery. In any case, if the delivery is not at the right speed for the mother and baby, a caesarian may be necessary. The thing to look for here is any labor pains (ie contractions) or your water breaking (even if you feel no contractions). Don't get frightened if you feel contractions slowly. You are looking for 5 minutes apart, lasting about 1 minute each, and that is when the doctor will tell you to head to the hospital (earlier if you have quite a distance to travel to get to the hospital). When they are close to this and regular, but not quite there, that is also a good time to call the doctor and/or head to the hospital. However, if your water breaks and you feel no contractions, you need to get to the hospital right away. A delivery needs to happen within 24 hours of water breaking to avoid injuries and infections (sometimes devastating ones) to the baby. If labor doesn't progress as it should, pitocin may be administered to help speed contractions and dilation along. If that doesn't work, a caesarian may be in order. ( Full Answer )
I am 37 weeks pregnant i am 2cm dilated 75 effaced last wk i was 1 cm my cervix was just soft when will labor start i think i lost my mucus plug this morning?
If you lost your plug, you should contact your ob/gyn right away, and make plans to go to the hospital. Congratulations!
I will be 38 weeks pregnant in 2 days. The doctor said that I was already dilated to 3 and that I wouldn't probably go until my induction date of the 21st (39 weeks) but I tried the castor oil thing and it was really weird not to say one of the nastiest things I've ever swallowed in my life. i first… tried 2 tablespoons, then the next day i tried 4 tablespoons, the next day i drank 4 ounces of the stuff, and I got nothing at all. No labor pains, no contractions, no nothing. I think that I is pure coincidence if someone goes into labor after drinking castor oil. If your body is not ready, then it won't do anything but put a bad taste in your mouth. Your baby will come when he/she is ready, the longer you wait, the more of the chance is, your baby will be happy and healthy. So if drinking over a half bottle didn't make me go into labor, i don't think it will do any good to even try it. Your baby will come when it's ready. BE Patient! and good luck :) ( Full Answer )
This is anywhere from a month to three months before the foal's due date. So no reason to see any signs of labor. 44.25 weeks would be around 310 days which is considered the lowest gestational age for the foal to be mature enough that it won't require additional intervention to insure viability.
No, full term is not until 37 weeks. after that, taking long walks, helps the baby move down, or having sex, always take water w/you if you are out walking. Ask your Dr about getting induced.
I am not an expert, but I do have two children. I don't think there is any correct answer, because all women are different. Although, when I was 7 months I was dialated 1 1/2cm and I stayed that way until full term. When I reached the hospital at 9 months (false labor) my doctor did an exam on me an…d I went from 1 1/2cm to 3 cm in about 2 hours. After one more hour, they said that if I dialated any more in the next few hours than they would keep me and go on with labor, but if not, then I was free to go home. Well, I did reach 4 cm an hour after that. So I would say that it really depends on whether or not the baby is truly ready to come. I know you are anxious, I was soooooo ready to be finished with the third trimester!! Hope this helps.. ( Full Answer )
You are almost 39 weeks pregnant your doctor said the baby is fully engaged and dropped and you are dilated to a 1 and have constant cramps could this mean labor is almost here?
yes it could mean you are going to labor i would get it checked first they may just send you home or admit you for a few hours if you dialte anymore. Yes. This is the kind of question you should ask your doctor. If your water breaks or leaks get to the hospital immediately. If the cramping does not… stop, get to the hospital. Good luck with your baby. They say having sex helps , a lot of walking helps. you can talk to your Dr. he/she can set up a date to induce.
38 weeks pregnant having irregular bad cramp-like pains increased discharge sore back can i be getting ready for labor?
It can be that you are in labor, regular contractions increasing in frequency, severity and interval , pain radiating from up to back and lower abdomen is a sign of true labor.
40 weeks pregnant have had stomach ache back pain could you be going into labor and how long until labor?
It is possible that it would be sooner than you would expect. It could also be that you are laying in bed in an unknowingly uncomfortable position.
According to my doctor this is just your body preparing to give birth - the cramping could be helping the baby to descend lower into your pelvis, and helping your cervix to keep dilating. I am 39 weeks also, 1 cm dilated as of yesterday, and having the same symptoms. If they get progressively …stronger, your water breaks, or you begin getting distinct contractions that are coming at a regular interval, go get checked. Otherwise be happy that your body is doing some of the work it needs to with just minor cramping - much better than having to make all this progress in labor! Good luck to you - we're almost there! nipple stimulation, walking, sucking your thumb (it hits a pressure point at the roof of your mouth... all of these stimulate contractions.. Congratulations!!!
If you are 4 cm dilated and 85 percent effaced and have starting having false labor how long until you go into true labor?
It totally depends! If you think you are going into labor, call your doctor or just go into the hospital. They will be able to tell you. I was 3 cm dilated for weeks and weeks! I got up to 70% effaced by 38 weeks. I went into labor and went into the hospital, however they sent me home because I d…idn't dilate past 3 cm in the entire hour I was there. 6 hours later I had my baby! So it happened very quickly for me. Pretty much RIGHT when I got home from my first trip to the hospital I started going into true and hard labor! Good Luck. :) ( Full Answer )
You are 38 weeks pregnant and dilated to 2 cm you feel pressure and cramping in your lower abdomen and lost part of your mucus plug this morning so how long until you go into labor?
spunds like you could actually be in the early stages of labour!! even though..it could be minutes, hours or days until you go into labour, its different for everyone there is just no way of telling for sure
you have all the old wifes tales like exremely spicey food and jumping up n down on the spot ect ect...but personally i believe there is nothing you can do but sit and wait! make sure everything is just perfect for your little baby coming and go through your hospital bag 10x or more to make sure u h…ave everything like i did! hehe! Good luck for when it does happen and i wish you and your family all he happiness in the world :) ( Full Answer )
No, you most probably aren't. Unless contractions start, it's not labor!. been there, felt that and it turned out to be a false alarm!!!
You are 35 weeks and you almost went into labor but the doctor stop your labor can sex put you into labor if you are 1 cm dialated?
Yes. Very much so! I would definitely check with your doctor and hold off on sex.
no, I am 37w 2 days and I'm 80% effaced and 1 cm and they don't think I'll go into actually labor for at least another week if not more. your contractions are just getting your cervix ready for actual labor.
You are almost 39 weeks pregnant and at your last dr appt you were 1 and a half cm dilated and 50 percent effaced now you are having really bad period like cramps could you be starting labor?
yes. labor to me felt just like period cramps. i did not even recognize it was labor, got to the hospital 30 minutes before my daughter was born. no time for the epidural so i would not recommend waiting until the last minute to go to the hospital.
No. I have been dilated to 3 cm for over a week now. I was at 4 cm when I was induced with my first. My doctor said that one lady came in dilated to 10 cm (that's completely dilated) and was not in labor yet. She had to be induced.
First of all, your baby is not ready to come out at 36 weeks and you should not be thinking about giving birth yet. Your baby is not considered "full term" until 37 weeks, but even at 37 weeks, the chance of him/her ending up in the NICU from respiratory distress is quite high. The lungs are the l…ast thing to develop in newborns and so it is important to wait until at least 38-39 weeks to give birth, if you have a choice. Most women will be disappointed to know that being dilated 1-2cm is not an indicator that labor will begin soon. You can walk around for many weeks like this, in fact. ( Full Answer )
All I can say is that I am 40 weeks 100% effaced and 2 cm dilated and I have not gone into labor. I am still waiting....
Im 34 weeks pregnant and having contraction every 5 to 10 minutes apart but not dilated Will you go into labor soon?
Have you spoken to your doctor, obstetrician or midwife about this yet? If not, I really advice phoning them or going to the hospital because your contractions are pretty close together. It is possible that these could still be Braxton Hicks contractions. But they could be the start of labour. It's …important to get checked out. ( Full Answer )
You are 33 weeks pregnant and 75 percent effaced ad 1 cm dilated very soft cervix how long approx will labor start?
your dilation can take as long as 2weeks or 2days depends on how active you are.
I spent 2 months that way... sorry, but it could be tomorrow, or weeks/months away =/
No, having back pains is a sign that the baby is still in development. You back is not used to having that much weight put on it, hence the more pain. seeing a chiropractor can minimise the pain and help realign your back, it should help.
its different for everyone, first babys usually take the longest and you can be 2cms for a long time, sometimes days, just stay slowly active carry on doing day to day things, keep energy levels up and it will progress when ready.
