Not only is the firing order different on the 302 and 302HO engines, but Ford also numbers its cylinders differently than GM engines. The # 1 cylinder on a Ford 302 is passenger side front plug. www.motorcraft.com shows the F series truck 5.0 L ( 302 cubic inch ) from 1968 ( that's as far back as the list goes ) to 1992 firing order as 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8 The distributor rotates COUNTER CLOCKWISE There is no firing order listed for the F150 5.0 L ( 302 cubic inch ) from 1993 to 1996 ( the last year the 5.0 L was used in the F150 )
