In my case it was the ignition switch itself had overheated and seized up. Replace the switch (have to lower the column, disconnect the wiring plug from the switch, and remove/replace the switch.) Clean all connections to the switch, make sure they're connected solidly and not heating up again.
The fog lamps are activated on a 2000 Grand Cherokee via the headlight switch. Pull the END of the lever OUT.
Several things could be causing the 1994 Cherokee to have this problem. There could be a drop in fuel pressure. There could also be a problem with the ignition circuit like a coil pack breaking down as it gets hot. Check these areas to start with.
fuel pressure regulator
fuel in your oil can be several things. Bad rings, a blown head gasket, these are the most common problems. Checking cylinder compression is the best way to find out.
start with the fuze then the bulbs would be the easyest thing first. DC: The Brake Switch could be broken or there is a fuse underneath the hood right next to the battery I had the same problem with mine when i bought my jeep.
99 jeep Cherokee Laredo stay running after turn off the ignition switch?
The dealer can, and some locksmiths.
Cherokee Laredo, no. Grand Cherokee Laredo, yes.
This works for the 1993 Grand Cherokee: Sit inside the vehicle with all the doors closed. Place ignition in the OFF position. Open the driver's door. Leave Open. Move the mechanical door lever to the LOCK position. Turn the ignition to the RUN position. Aim the transmitter at the Keyless Entry receiver and press Lock button. Hold for five seconds until the door locks cycle. Turn ignition OFF within 20 seconds.
you take it to the dealer caz you cant do it for sure its incredably complicated
The back of the ignition key cylinder is probably broken.
There is no such thing as a 2002 Cherokee Laredo. The last year for the Cherokee was 2001, and the last year it came with the Laredo trim was 1992. I have a 2003 Cherokee Laredo so this awnser makes no sense at all. Do you have a GRAND Cherokee Laredo? Those are still being made. They are not the same as the Cherokee.
Yes, Laredo is just a trim package.
Jeep did not make a Cherokee Laredo, they did make a grand Cherokee Laredo, and you can fit 31 inch tires.
Put the transfer case lever in a position with a "4" next to it and you are in 4wd.
loose wire or most likely ignition module
Lack of fuel, lack of air, ignition problems.
